Why It’s Smarter to Call a Plumber (Even for the Smallest Projects)

If you’re considering any kind of DIY home plumbing fix or renovation, you might want to put just a little more thought into that decision before you go pull out the wrench.  You see, even the smallest plumbing projects, no matter how easy or routine they might seem, can often lead to bigger complications and problems later down the road. There are a great number of concerns that actually come with a do-it-yourself plumbing job.

That’s why we urge you to reconsider your intentions before you decide to touch those pipes and why we’re taking a closer look at some of those biggest DIY plumbing concerns.  Make the smarter choice for your home, and use the services of a trusted, qualified plumber to eliminate all of the worry and concern that can come from those seemingly simply plumbing adjustments.  And, if ease of mind isn’t enough to convince you to give our Tritan team a call, here are just a few additional reasons why you should hire a professional plumber for all of those DIY projects, no matter how big or small:

  • Safety:  The fact is that any time you take a home improvement project into your own hands, you’re responsible for your own safety, no matter the potential consequences.  You see, professional plumbers fully understand the potential safety risks associated with any job. They attend vocational schools to learn their skills, or they learn the trade through hands-on experience provided to them through journeyman plumbers over several years before they’re even allowed to work on their own solo projects.  So, for you, the untrained do-it-yourselfer, when you take on these sorts of projects, you run a much greater risk of injuring yourself, your home, or even those around you. Plumbing isn’t an easy job, and there are all sorts of risks and hazards that come with the territory, especially to those who are untrained in the technicalities and processes.
  • Savings:  For many do-it-yourselfers, they take on home repair projects thinking that they’ll save money.  This however, could not be further from the truth. You might think that you’ll be saving a couple hundred bucks initially by not hiring a plumber, but really, you’ll be regretting that decision in the long-run.  For instance, just consider how much time must be spent working on a project, alone. Your DIY project will take time away from your everyday life, and possibly your paying 9 to 5 job if it turns into something major, and cost you more in obtaining the correct parts and supplies for the job.  Then, if the job isn’t done right after all of that, the problem could just resurface in the future worse than before, and you’ll end up paying even more than you initially fought to save.
  • Warranty:  Another major reason why you should hire a plumber for those DIY jobs is because if something goes wrong during your attempt to fix any plumbing issues, you’re on your own to make the repairs, at your own expense.  If, however, you bring in a licensed professional, all of those plumbing problems will be covered by a warranty. So, if something should go wrong in the future, you’ll be able to call in a quick repair without having to spend any additional money.

DIY plumbing might seem like a good idea at the time, but when you really put things in perspective, we think you’ll reconsider your plans all on your own.  You should always opt to hire a trusted, licensed and experienced professional to handle all of your plumbing needs, no matter the scale of the problem. Trust us, it will absolutely pay off in the long-run, and you’ll be left with peace of mind knowing that the work has been done right.
